A Place To Rest Your Head
A project exploring breast issues.
29th October – 9th November
Place To Rest Your Head is a planned multi media project consisting of paintings by Dominick O’Cruadhliocht and photography by Monica Manzzi Barlocco and testimonials from participating models, planning to raise issues of the female breast and male chest regarding breast cancer and other relevant issues.
In an age of the body beautiful a lot of issues are ignored with this area of the body. Women want shapely breasts and men want manly pecs. On the other hand it is also a sensitive taboo subject concerning health. There is Female and Male breast cancer which both sexes can be confused or are ill educated to check for, transgender hormone breast development which can be stressful during transformation, steroid abuse by males wanting to look more like a “man”, breast feeding issues in public, breast cancer survivors who have had single or double mastectomy including reconstruction surgery.
All paintings are painted with breast and chest impressions giving a colorful and abstract look and are non offensive.
All work is on sale and all profits being donated to various breast cancer bodies.
